Like many natural healers, Andie (Adrianna) Holman exhausted modern medicine searching for a cure for her horrendous eczema and multiple sensitivities. She started experimenting with her diet and natural therapies at age fifteen, and a burning curiosity was lit. Her body and soul became her science project which led to the realization she could help others take control of their health and healing.
After completing a business degree (BSBA) from the University of Denver, she managed a health-food store in Michigan while studying massage therapy at night through the Health Enrichment Center under Sandy Fritz. A blossoming career in massage was promising but the dreaded eczema returned.
Frustrated, Andie moved to London, England to study homeopathy full time at the College of Homœopathy. After the three-year course she gained her registered status with the Society of Homeopaths UK and continued her homeopathic education studying toxicology, methodology, and understanding cancer. She also completed a foundation course in kinesiology and explored metaphysical energy healing training through Delphi University. She gained her Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional medicine from Thames Valley University in 2010.
Andie initiated a complementary therapy program for the oncology department of London Bridge Hospital in 2002 and worked alone for two years. As demand grew, she brought on more therapists and was lead practitioner for the Complementary Therapies team for ten years. The team provided massage, aromatherapy, reiki, homeopathy, nutrition, and reflexology to cancer patients in various stages of treatment, including palliative care.
She worked in other clinics in London, being a founding member of two esteemed operations: Nelsons Homeopathic Pharmacy Clinic (the pharmacy itself being the oldest in Europe) and the integrated clinic, Third Space Medicine, where she was head of Homeopathy. She gave workshops and was commissioned to write Understanding Eczema for Neal’s Yard Remedies.
On moving to America for relief from the city life, she joined her local volunteer fire department and became a yoga teacher in Boulder, Colorado. Six years on she’s gone deeper into the woods. Andie currently lives in the wild mountains of Crested Butte with her mountain-bike mad husband and bevy of four-leggeds.
